I've been working successfully in the film, TV and photographic industry for the past 18 years. Jobs have included music videos, TV commercials and the odd stint on some of the soaps! Photographic assignments have ranged from fashion shoots for many magazines to Celebrity profiles for Tatler, Vanity Fair, Hello!, Empire and other film mags and "You" Mail on Sunday magazine.

Five years or so ago I noticed that the film industry was changing. Lower budgets, longer hours, more competition and younger and younger directors made me feel that I ought to have another string to my bow. Not wanting to go the route of other contemporaries and choosing to work away from home for months on end doing feature films, I started to do wedding make-up for some of the models I'd worked with on shoots. I soon made the discovery of how nice it was to work outside of a "shoot" situation coupled with the fact of it being such an exciting day for the bride. I progressed to the advertising in "Bride" magazine 4 1/2 years ago and found great satisfaction working with the general public - "real people" - and also a sense of achievement in building a good rapport with them.

Although I'm solely a make-up artist, my connections over the years have enabled me to have access to several fabulous and talented hair stylists. Together we strive to create the perfect look for each individual Bride and I like to think that we make a harmonious team - especially when most wedding days have the potential to being stressful. With the two of us, we can, of course, save time on the Big Day which is essential for larger parties.

Many have recommended me to other friends and family to the point of us remaining good mates and seeing each other for mad girlie nights on a regular basis!! I feel that doing bridal make-up strikes a good balance between the two sides of my work, plus having got married within the last 2 years myself, I can join in the exciting atmosphere which comes as part of planning a wedding.
