Resumé
I started working within the cosmetics industry 6 years ago where I worked as a make-up consultant for Chanel. After finding I had a natural flair for make-up application I then spent 3 years training to be a professional make-up artist. The qualifications I have achieved are in theatrical and media make-up, cosmetic make-up and manicure and beauty therapy. I have now been working as a freelance make-up artist for the last 2 years.
I work with a number of renowned photographers in the North East on makeover shoots, model portfolios and weddings as well as freelance prom and party make-up and theatrical productions.
I use good quality cosmetics by MAC, Nars, Laura Mercier, Shu Uemura and Benefit and I also work with a range of Aloe Vera make-up and skincare products. As a MAC pro artist, I attend regular MAC master classes and have recently been on this year's bridal class. These classes not only keep you up to date with the latest trends but also the latest products.
For me, I get great joy from making someone feel good about themselves, to be able to transform someone on a makeover shoot or on the most special day of their life is very rewarding. One of my main strengths is being a good people person and I like to think that I make my clients at ease, confidant and enjoy their make-up experience with me.

"Kate responded to me really quickly, which I very much appreciated. The initial consultation was very thorough and I very much appreciated that Kate was prepared to spend as long as it took to achieve the look I was after.
In terms of Wedding make-up on the day I couldn't have asked for anything better, the make-up looked natural and lasted until the early hours of the following morning. I received so many comments about the way I looked and it was a perfect mix of natural, light looking make-up that looked great on the photographs.
As a bride I had so much to organise before the Wedding so it was a relief to find a make-up artist who was very good at what she did and was a lovely person whom I trusted.

"I have to say that from the first time I met Kate, I had complete and utter confidence that we
would all look stunning on the big day. We all felt so comfortable and at ease with the process.
I was particularly concerned on the day of the Wedding that the bad weather/snow would hinder Kate getting to the venue, but I needn't have worried – as promised, she arrived bang on time and through out that morning Kate was a godsend, even reminding everyone that it was my day and shouldn't I have a glass of bubbly in my hand?, which was soon resolved!
I even had an early evening nap after the Wedding. I removed the false lashes and my contact lenses and propped myself upon a pillow to stop my hair getting ruffled. After an hour and a half I woke up, had a quick shower, put my lenses back in and blotted a little shine on my face, applied a little liner where I had removed my lashes and a slick of lipstick. People couldn't believe that I had been to sleep and neither my hair nor make-up had budged or smudged!
I was pleased that Kate was able to come to both venues, so that I had continuity over both days. I will certainly be recommending Kate's services to all my friends and colleagues and I believe that one of my friends is already considering a make-up lesson for her Wedding next year in Italy.
Kate, I can't thank you enough for your help throughout the planning and the Wedding itself – even with the booking being at quite short notice you bent over backwards at every opportunity to help me take the stress away.
