- Q: What products are used?
- A: All Face Time Artists use top quality products from Beauty Houses such as Mac, Bobbi Brown, Clinique and Benefit. Also some professional products are used such as Kryolan, Screenface and Ben Nye. Hair products are also top quality such as L'Oreal and Paul Mitchell.
- Q: When should I cut or colour my hair?
- A: It is always advisable to visit your hairdresser for treatments or styling around two weeks before the wedding. This will give the cut a chance to fall into the desired shape, and the colour a chance to settle down.
- Q: When should I have beauty treatments like waxing or facials?
- A: Again I would recommend about two weeks before the day. With facials the skin may become reddened or you could experience more blemishes as the treatments help to bring impurities out of the skin, so once the skin has settled down it will look and feel much better. Waxing would be the same, as occasionally treatments can cause irritations or slight bruising.
- Q: I feel pale should I use fake tan or sunbeds?
- A: I personally do not see a problem with using tanning beds for occasions such as weddings, although I do know these do contribute to cancer if used regularly. I also recommend tanning treatments such as St. Tropez or other professional treatments, although self tanning could be risky if you are not confident, as it could end up streaky or the wrong tone for your complexion, so remember to have a trial a month or so beforehand to make sure it gives you the best results.
- Q: When is the best time to arrange a trial for my hair & makeup?
- A: The trial can take place at any time, but it is more helpful to the Artist if it takes place just after your final visit to the hairdressers and tanning salons. This enables the artist to make sure the skin is the same tone as it will be on the day and the hair is the same length and colour.
- Q: Can you cover birthmarks or tattoos?
- A: Yes, definitely, the Artists have been trained to camouflage any tattoos or marks using specialist products which do not rub off and blend perfectly to any skin tone.
- Q: What happens if the Artist's car breaks down or she is ill?
- A: As Face Time is a network of Artists, there is always someone to fall back on if something like that happens, but "touch wood" this has never happened yet to me.
- Q: Should I wash my hair on the day?
- A: Some artists prefer the hair to be washed the night before; others don't mind it being washed on the day. It really comes down to personal preference and I feel that if you, the bride, are more comfortable washing your hair on the day then that is what you should do. It's your big day after all!
- Q: How can one person do all the styling in time to get us to church?
- A: Again, as Face Time is a Network of Artists, if there is a large party then two or more artists will attend.
