Resumé
I have been working in the beauty industry for over 9 years and have a varied experience of make up application for everyday, weddings and theatrical.
My personal interest in make up began when I was quite young, and then soon became a passion which I wanted to develop in to a career.
The very first experience I had of working with make up was on a school production of "Oliver", where I then decided I wanted to train as a professional.
From school I attended Farnborough college of technology for one year and gained a make up diploma. This covered different aspects of make up, along with some hair and skin care training.
From here I wanted to gain valuable work experience, so spent the next few years working for cosmetic brands, which was a fantastic opportunity to work with many different skin types and skin tones and build up a wide range of product knowledge. I have had full training from Elizabeth Arden, Yves Saint Laurent, and Christian Dior.
Six years ago I decided to take a professional media make up artist course at Brushstrokes located at Shepperton studios. This was a far more in depth course for make up and hair for TV, theatre and film. This is when I started free lancing as a make up artist.
Over the years I have experienced working within a theatre environment, and some tv work, but my passion is working in bridal make up.
I have worked on many weddings over the years and absolutely love it! I find all aspects of the wedding interesting and could chat all day about the arrangements, whether it be the hair and make up, the dress, the venue or the flowers. Being married myself and having experienced my own special day I know the importance of making everything perfect.
My aim is to create a relaxed atmosphere which is professional and fun. To ensure you feel at ease and so that I can meet your expectations I always do trials where your requirements can be discussed along with any other arrangements, such as theme, venue, flowers etc. Trials can be in your own home, or at a friend or relatives at a time which is convenient for you, usually a few months before the wedding date. Then on the day I can travel to you with everything you need to create your desired bridal look.

"I used Emily to do the make up for both myself and my bridesmaids for my wedding in September 2009. She had been recommended to me by a family member who had also used her, and I couldn't have been happier with the result.
We had a tester session about three months before the wedding, and as I don't wear make up on a day to day basis, this really helped me understand what I wanted in terms of my look for the day. Emily offered really useful advice and put my mind at rest! On the day itself, Emily was so calm and co-ordinated, and her punctuality and focus really helped the morning run smoothly. The products she used were fantastic, and lasted all day which was wonderful as I didn't need to worry about re touching during the day.
